The Tasmanian Craft Fair is staged over three days across four major venues and three food courts, last year recording 18,000 attendances across our venues in Deloraine. We expect these numbers to increase by 20% this year with a wide range of initiatives.

As a volunteer event run by the Rotary Club of Deloraine, we have worked hard over the last 44 years to deliver what has become an iconic event. The Club’s organising committee recognises that within a changing world, the needs of our Exhibitors and attendees are evolving too.

For this reason, the Tasmanian Craft Fair will be making a series of changes over the next 5 years as we implement a Strategic Plan designed to ensure our event thrives for decades to come while maintaining the heart and soul of what makes the Tasmanian Craft Fair special.

The 3-day program continues to offer the opportunity to make strong connections with the public and interact with the largest number of potential buyers in the shortest possible time. Many Exhibitors fill their books with orders during the event!

What are we adding for 2025?

  • Parking strategy - to include park and ride as well as services from Launceston and the North West

  • Accessibility audit - while we have been mindful of our patrons who may have mobility issues, we know there is more that we can do across the spectrum to make the Craft Fair more accessible for everyone. Thanks to a successful grant application with Events Tasmania, we will this year conduct the audit and make as many improvements as possible over the next few years.

  • New curator role - this person will be given the task, among others, to give each venue their own dynamic niche while maintaining the artistic integrity of the Fair.

  • Tasmanian Craft Fair branding refresh with thanks to the team at Impress.

  • Increased interstate marketing strategy.

  • The Auditorium workshops and lessons will be replaced by an outdoor stage near Venue 1 meaning more people can be part of the learning.

  • Entertainment offering expanded and feature artists and displays are being booked…but we can’t tell you all our secrets just yet!

We’re looking for the range we’ve welcomed before with a few extra ideas…

  • Craft Suppliers - even better if you have unique options

  • Stonemasons and landscaping arts

  • Heritage restorers

  • More, high-quality handmade gifts with a few lower price point options too (we heard they went well last year!)

  • Photographic artists with a unique twist

  • Handmade and personalised Christmas
    gift options

  • Handmade or bespoke toys that kids can craft themselves

  • More food suppliers featuring Tasmanian produce

  • Industries who have shareable skills in Tasmania

  • Glassblowing

  • Furniture makers

  • Gourmet food options

  • Quirky and eye-grabbing visual arts
