Giant Steps

Giant Steps Tasmania was established in 1995 by a group of dedicated parents and local community supporters who were committed to ensuring focused and specialised education to suit the individualised needs of children with Autism Spectrum Challenges.

Our Philosophy: Giant Steps believes people living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder have the capacity to learn and deserve a life which provides acceptance, safety, stimulation, happiness and respect.

Our Vision: Giant Steps aims to make a positive difference in the lives of people living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Our School Climate: Giant Steps provides a safe and reassuring environment which allows our students to have an opportunity to learn and flourish.  We provide professional services to students in a relaxed, warm, fun and caring educational atmosphere.

Meander Valley Community Radio

Meander Valley Community Radio seeks to promote harmony and diversity and contribute to an inclusive cohesive and culturally diverse community.  We are here for the community to enjoy and utilize, to support local arts, music and community events.  We are a member/ sponsor/ grant run radio station that hopes to support real and perceived needs of Meander Valley.  

We broadcast from Latrobe to Prospect and all of Meander Valley in between to approximately 23,000 potential listeners.  We hope that at least 10% are on air with us 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Deloraine District Hospital

Deloraine District Hospital is a 20 bed Acute Care facility that includes Palliative Care and General Medical Care. The hospital coordinates the delivery of a broad range of community and allied health services within the Meander Valley.

Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania

RFDS Tasmania supports the aeromedical service and reaches out to communities to deliver a broad range of primary health care services and community projects to benefit all Tasmanians.

In Tasmania, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) South Eastern Section works in partnership with Ambulance Tasmania to fill the vital role in the delivery of essential health care services by supplying the state's fixed wing air ambulance.

The RFDS operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide Tasmanians with services which include emergency trauma evacuations and inter-hospital transfers to take patients to the specialist care they need.
